Hello everyone!
It has been just a FEW weeks since I have been able to write in my blog... whoops! Anyways, a lot has happened in the past weeks! First, I would like to say Happy New Year to everyone and hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season with their loved ones. :]
Lets see...
I got to go home to California for a few days during Christmas. It was soooo fun and very warm compared to here. I was melting! After two days I was ready to get back to the cold. It is definitely not winter in California.... at all. We are still in summer. I only hope that we get some rain there for my farm family! I'll try to send some your way since today it is raining cats and dogs outside! It was so fun seeing everyone and spending time with all my favorite peoples while I was home. Though it was short, it was sweet :] Thank you to everyone that made time to see me while I was home, it really meant a lot to me!
I got back to Maine last Saturday night and started working on Sunday and haven't had a day off since until today! Work is amazing. I still love my job and I am getting to know everyone a bit more each day. This month is the start to our busy season. This past weekend we had our first freestyle competition. It was so cool! Minus the fact I had to stand outside all day on Saturday in freezing cold temperatures. I still can't feel some of my fingers and was told that it will be a few weeks until I will get full feeling back. AWESOME. I also couldn't eat my lunch because my sandwich froze, could make any phone calls because my phone froze, and my walkie talkie froze. So to say the least... it was cold outside. The cold takes a lot of energy out of you and I am exhausted. It was definitely an experience and something that I need to adapt to more... I suppose :] This week is going to be crazy busy... it is College Week on the mountain a long with Frozen Rush by Red Bull on Friday. Not only are those things going on but we have Locals Challenge starting on Wednesday, a race on Friday, and another freestyle event on Saturday and Sunday. Locals Challenge is where a team of 7 local peoples get to race between the hours of 9-12 and whoever has the most points wins that day of events and then there is a champion at the end of the season. We have a party every Wednesday night to celebrate the winner of that day. It sounds like a lot of fun and it is sponsored by BudLight.. (water beer but oh well). So this week will be busy, stressful, but a lot of fun and I can't wait :]
I have been meeting more and more people each day, week, weekend, etc... and making more friends. Friday was Devin's birthday and a bunch of his friend came to visit. We went out to this bar called the Funky Red Barn. It reminded me a lot of the Dirty Bird in the sense that it is the last place you go at night, there are a bunch of locals, and we were the only ones dancing. It was great. I have gotten close with Emma's best friend out here named Kate. She is a doll and very down to earth. We both have said that we feel as though we have known each other forever and this friendship was destined to happen. :] Emma and Kate are my girls out here and I am thankful to have them everyday. I have met some other cool kids in the past couple of weeks. I will write more on them the next time I have a moment to write in the blog.
Anyways, a lot of other things have been going on while I have been here. I have some big decisions to make in the next couple of months. I love it here and I would like to stay longer if I could. Mom and Dad, I know you don't like that idea but... I may have to do it!! More to come on that later as well.
I hope everyone is doing well and to hear from you all soon. I'd love that :] Missing everyone and loving you all from Maine!!!
Talk soon,
T
